Indigenous Led Initiatives

Ohero:kon was founded by the parents of families that attended the Akwesasne Freedom School in 1979, it is now a community institution of cultural reclamation and ceremony. Noyes funding supported the development of a cultural intervention strategy for youth to nurture their transition into adulthood, guided by a caring community of peers and elders through ceremony, ritual and teachings.
